‘Protein Loading’… After every workout I have a protein shake (I make sure to have it within 30 min of finishing, otherwise it’s not as effective). I make it with protein powder, yogurt, a banana, berries (whatevers in season – great antioxidants!), whole milk, and 1-2 eggs. Throughout the day, I also will have a couple of good ol’ pb&j sandwiches, in addition to my regular meals. Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches on whole wheat bread (read the label, wheat bread is NOT whole wheat – it’s enriched flour, you don’t want that) are a great way to have a complete protein snack without eating meat (in case anyone is a vegetarian). For those who might not know, when I was in college my studies were geared for a Dietition Major. I learned a lot about this stuff, and at the time I was a vegetarian. I am not now, but I do not typically eat red meat – just chicken. Another great complete protein is a plate of whole beans and rice. All of this may sound uneccessary, but when you are trying to maintain or gain weight and have a very high metabolism like I do, it’s very neccessary – and it’s a lot cheaper and healthier than taking supplements or drugs. I can honestly say that all my muscle tone is natural – not medically induced – and I’m very proud of that ALSO…LIVE CAM AND CHAT TOMORROW NIGHT (WEDNESDAY) and FRIDAY…both nights at 7PM WEST COAST / 10PM EAST COAST / 2AM GMT…it will be great to see and talk to you all, as usual!!!
